Premier Stage and
Location Lighting

Boasting one of the largest lighting and grip inventories in New York City, K/A/S Lighting is recognized throughout the industry as one of the New York metropolitan region's top lighting companies.

With an inventory that includes quartz lighting from a 100 watt pepper to 20,000 watt fresnels, HMI's from 200 watt to 24,000 watt PARS & fresnels, as well as all kinds of grip equipment, combi trucks and tractor trailers with 1,600 amp MQ generators and Chapman and Fisher dollies, K/A/S Lighting is fully equipped to handle any and all professional lighting needs.

Highly Experienced Management

K/A/S Lighting's day-to-day operations are guided by Mike Spera, a talented, respected and well known industry veteran. "It's hard to imagine any lighting job he couldn't ace. This guy is top in his field," said Rosenbluth. "He's done it all, from the Olympics in Athens and then in Beijing, to major features and independent films. In-studio or on-location, he is a complete lighting resource. His ability to anticipate needs and service the client at all costs is what makes me proud and the company stand out."

New Expanded Facilities

To accommodate K/A/S Lighting's expanding inventory, the company recently moved into more spacious facilities, down the block from its original headquarters at Kaufman Astoria Studios, New York.

K/A/S Lighting's new facility is complete with its own parking lot and efficient loading and unloading docks for crews that allows trucks to load and unload both inside and outside the building, with an exterior weather canopy. The canopy covers both loading docks as well as a drive-in.

Big Productions,
Small Productions

New York's growing independent film market is rapidly becoming another source of business for K/A/S Lighting. As an increasing number of producers discover the wonders of shooting in New York City and environs, they too have turned to K/A/S Lighting for their film work.

"We see the independent film market as a tremendous growth area for K/A/S Lighting,"

Rosenbluth explained. There's a lot of potential in the independent market, and we expect to become more involved in this area of the business."

Movie & Stage Lighting

In addition to lighting in-house productions currently shooting at Kaufman Astoria Studios, including Cosby, Sesame Street, Nurse Jackie, K/A/S Lighting trucks and generators are seen regularly on-location throughout the tri-state region for film and television projects as well as numerous special events.

"When they're working in New York, the top directors and producers in film and television today turn to K/A/S Lighting . We work with the best talent in the business. When they call on K/A/S Lighting for their film or television project they expect the best and that's what we deliver, in-studio or on-location, no matter how big or small the job, said Hal Rosenbluth, president of K/A/S Lighting."
